The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mary Gahonzire has urged female police officers in the country to provide better service in order to maintain the respect of women in society.

Gahonzire observed that by becoming role models in society, female officers would motivate more young girls to join police.

She made the remarks yesterday while opening a three-day workshop organized for female police officers operating from the Eastern Province at Hotel Dereva in Rwamagana.

She asked participants to exhibit professionalism in their work and to provide quick services whenever needed in order to command respect.

Participants in the workshop were requested to extend the knowledge acquired from the workshop to all women police cops especially in the fight against domestic violence which is still high in Eastern Province.

Participants were also urged to always endeavor to purse further studies in order to improve their education standards.
