Editor,Yesterday, as the world marked the International Population Day, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and other organizations and world leaders warned against unabated population growth in developing countries. It is telling that Rwanda’s population growth rate now stands at 2.8, per cent up from 2.1 per cent last year.Population growth that does not match a country’s resources is a serious threat to socio-economic development.  This needs to be addressed quickly if we are to achieve a sustainable development. There is a need to sensitize Rwandans about family planning. Above all, let us all try to send our children to school since an educated society can easily leapfrog most challenges.
