The U-18 national handball team will be looking to reach the semi-finals when they face Algeria in the last game in Group B of the ongoing 2022 Africa Handball Confederation (CAHB) Championship.

The game gets underway in Kigali at 7 pm, at the BK Arena. Rwanda on Wednesday lost against Egypt 30-44 at BK Arena.

On Tuesday night, Rwanda won its opening game, beating Madagascar 53-32.

The result means Rwanda will wait a little bit longer to qualify for the semi-finals that will take place on Sunday.

"The way we beat them, that’s the same way they can beat us. We need to get more focused and have more energy because Algeria can fight, we need to be ready and not rush to defense,” Anaclet Bagirishya, head coach of the national team, told Times Sport in a telephone interview.

He added "The tournament has not been easy for us, every team is tough and ready to compete”.

All the games are played at the BK Arena. Eight teams from different African countries are taking part in the tournament.

The teams are in two groups. Group A has Morocco, Libya, Uganda and Burundi. Group B has Rwanda, Egypt, Algeria and Madagascar.
