A blessing in disguise

Editor, Allow me to comment on a story about the transfer to Mali of Théoneste Bagosora, a man widely believed to be the key architect of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, and others to serve their prison sentences. Bagosora is lucky that he will be serving his sentence while being pampered as UN prisoner.

Editor,Allow me to comment on a story about the transfer to Mali of Théoneste Bagosora, a man widely believed to be the key architect of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, and others to serve their prison sentences. Bagosora is lucky that he will be serving his sentence while being pampered as UN prisoner. His victims didn’t have chance to stand trial on their sole crime – their identity! However, let the convicted Bagosoras stay out there, serving their due sentences. Let me also state that had the two Rwandan prisoners who died in Benin been to Kigali, critics would have accused Rwanda of killing them. To argue that their relatives would have a chance to visit them if jailed in Rwanda may be true but let their relatives should make that plea. After all, separation from family is one of the purposes of a jail term.Simon KaweesaUSA
