Employers and managers need to realise that motivation and giving their employees a good pay increases profits for their companies.It’s unreasonable for an employee to work for many years without being promoted or rewarded in any way. It demoralises many and they can’t perform to their full potential.Motivation can be done in quite a number of ways based on qualifications, experience and preference of the employee.Sometimes, managers tend to take a decision and motivate workers without putting their preference into consideration, leaving them unsatisfied.The act of motivation should be done regularly, at least four times a year unlike the current practice of once a year in most organisations.Some top managers see motivating staff as a waste of money.This kind of attitude must change.Kelvin RukundoKigali
