Rwandans in S.A mark Independence

Over 250 Rwandans living in South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique and Angola gathered at an event organised by the Rwandan High Commission, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Rwanda’s Independence and 18 years of liberation.

Over 250 Rwandans living in South Africa, Swaziland, Mozambique and Angola gathered at an event organised by the Rwandan High Commission, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Rwanda’s Independence and 18 years of liberation.During the event, the Rwandan community reflected on the past and the future as well as the country’s achievements.In his speech, the High Commissioner, Vincent Karega, wished Rwandans a happy Anniversary and urged them to continue contributing to the country’s development.He also told the audience that "commemorating the independence doesn’t mean that one must neglect the bad memories that came with the independence,” a communiqué from the High Commission reads.
