Editor,The article "Blood centre eyes global recognition” in yesterday’s issue of The New Times missed some facts.The article was about the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) which is set to accredit the National Centre for Blood Transfusion (NCBT) for its commitment to apply international standards in its operations.In the article, it said that the acting Director General of NCBT, Dr Swaibu Katare, had confirmed the development, saying it would help it become a centre of excellence.However, Dr Swaibu Katare is not the Acting Director General of NCBT. He is the Acting Director of Regional Centre for Blood Transfusion of Kigali. Moses
