Editor, Reading your article "Reflecting on 50 years of independence” (The New Times, June 27), I didn’t get any reflection on the 50 years of independence!Leaders who took over the Independence messed the country until the current government liberated it.I was expecting to read about political and social tensions of 1959-1962, the political parties during the days of Kayibanda and Mbonyumutwa, and the ensuing political troubles that befell the country.Anyway, I was only reminded the progress made for the last 18 years (this is liberation and not independence).
