……. As crestfallen Fatuma Muhonza jets in IT was a bad week for the Rwandans in the Tusker Project Fame Five (TPF5) contest after Fatuma Muhonza got evicted on Saturday, with the remaining local contestant, Jackson Kalimba, placed on probation the following day.Muhonza was one of two contestants to miss out on a lucrative deal announced by South-African Judge Gerrard Forster through which the top ten contestants will record a ten track album by the end of TPF5 season. The other was Tanzanian Damian Mihayo. She, however, vowed to carry on singing."I will be going straight to the studio from the academy,” said Muhonza."I am disappointed because I performed much better tonight.”Kalimba, on the other hand, performed Pepe Kale’s "Moyibi” to great applause from the audience but this did not save him from probation.Earlier on in the week, he had difficulty mastering the dance moves to the Lingala hit but on Sunday, his performance was one of the most entertaining if the audience’s reaction was anything to go by.The other contestants on probation are Kenyans; Steve Homes, Eunice Guttu and Doreen Nyawira as well as Allan Roy Sekiranda from Uganda. With only a day to go, let us save our own by voting for Kalimba as many times as possible. To vote for him, SMS "Tusker 10” to 7333.The voting lines are open till 6a.m on Saturday. The top ten contestants will record an album with Universal Music Group, the official recording partners of TPF 5. Forster, the Head of New Business Development for Sub-Saharan Africa for UMG International, made the announcement on Saturday night. He doubles as the forth judge in the contest. The 10 track album will be released before the contest ends on July 29, 2012.
