In most situations when someone loses a spouse and remarries, rumors start going around they had been seeing one another even before the death of the deceased spouse. That is why some people see remarrying as a vice. It’s so sad how people judge others with no respite. I overheard a group of women criticising their friend for remarrying yet she has a three- year- old child. Her husband died when the child was just eight months old.  I don’t know why they didn’t see that, probably, she wanted her son to have father figure in his life. They went as far as considering the act immoral. I was about to walk to their table to tell them to try putting themselves in the woman’s place before they judge her. In the first place she didn’t wish for her husband to die neither did she wish for her son to be fatherless. In fact it’s extremely selfish for one to blame a widow or widower for remarrying. Given the pain they have gone through, they really need support from family and friends in their new marriage. When a man and woman get married, according to the Bible and some cultures, the only thing that can break the marriage bond in is death. If a spouse dies, the widow or widower is free to remarry.   There is no specific time when a person should remarry after the death of a spouse. It’s sad when people start gossiping that he or she has remarried really fast. At times it’s for the best for someone to remarry after losing a spouse. This new person tends to fill the gap that was created by the death of the former spouse. It also helps in dealing with depression;  the person get a shoulder to cry and someone to talk to. The Bible, Romans 7: 2-3 states; "For example, by law a married woman is bound to her husband as long as he is alive, but if her husband dies, she is released from the law that binds her to him. So then, if she has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress. But if her husband dies, she is released from that law and is not an adulteress if she marries another man.”Therefore remarrying after one is widowed should not be regarded as immoral.
