LAST Friday evening saw the opening of a new art gallery at Hotel Des Mille Collines in Kigali that features Charlotte Candolfi, a Rwandan artist based in Switzerland. According to Candolfi, the gallery dubbed ‘Zawadi’, symbolically offers her light and space to work in. "My vision is to make Kigali a platform for artists in Africa,” Condolfi told The New Times, adding that she wants to make African artists realise their full potential."The gallery will be based at the hotel and we will be hosting an annual art exhibition in June every year,” said Condolfi.The event further accords other African artists to showcase works of art.
