Belgium-based songstress thrills fans at L. Muhazi

THOUSANDS of Malia Carine Uwamahoro fans descended on L. Muhazi, in the Eastern Province, on Saturday, for a concert by the Belgium based-Rwandan artiste.The R&B/Soul/Pop singer, famous as Carine, told The New Times that the show was great and the response was positive."The response was amazing!” said Carine. "People are also starting to recognise …my song ‘‘Fly Away’’!  I had a great time there and I hope people enjoyed my performances.”"There were many artistes who performed before me but I was the main performer.” Carine belted out a number of songs, including among others, her new single "Fly Away”, Etta James’ rendition "At Last” and "A Woman’s Worth” by Alicia Keys.Born in Bruxelles, Carine discovered music early in her life and started by singing in a local gospel choir. Soon after, she was showing off her impressive pipes at school events and other celebration parties, working intensively with vocal coaches and learning operating techniques. She is currently in the country to promote the DVD of her new single, "Fly Away.”The concert was organised by AGS Waterscapes, a new modern restaurant located off Byumba road at Muhazi.Patrons were served their favourite drinks and dishes, while enjoying a beautiful cruise right in the middle of the lake.AGS Waterscapes boosts the lake’s tourism with landmark infrastructure, which is the first of its kind in Rwanda. The new restaurant hosts a variety of entertainment for both local and international tourists.
