THE actress - who played Liz Shaw on the BBC sci-fi drama - passed away on June 5, the show’s official Twitter account has confirmed.John featured in a single season of Doctor Who in 1970, appearing alongside Jon Pertwee’s third Doctor.Born in York, North Yorkshire, England, her other credits included 2003 film Love Actually and episodes of Casualty, Midsomer Murders and Silent Witness.She also worked extensively in theatre, touring with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre.John was married to actor Geoffrey Beevers, who also appeared in Doctor Who as the villainous Master in 1981 story ‘The Keeper of Traken’.The pair appeared opposite each other in 1988 mini-series A Very British Coup and a 1989 episode of Agatha Christie’s Poirot.
