Editor,First and foremost, I wish to commend the Rwandan Government and Rwandans in general for the successful conduct of Gacaca trials.  Gacaca courts have left behind an amazing and exemplary legacy to Rwanda and the wider world.However, I would like to propose that you extend Gacaca to THREE crucial areas, namely: 1. Extend the jurisdiction of the Gacaca Courts to handle FAMILY LAW issues (marriage and divorce, adoption/custody of children, land and succession disputes.2. Upgrade experience gathered by the Gacaca Courts into the TRAINING CURRICULUM of your higher institutions of learning (Colleges, Universities, Law Schools, etc.) as part of the increasingly popular Conflict Management Degrees.3. Convert the Gacaca Judges/Adminstrators into a REVOLVING RESOURCE/CONSULTANCY GROUP who can be sent (loaned out) to other nations in Africa (and beyond) as "peace ambassadors/missionaries” to help jump start peace-making initiatives among other polarised communities.Margaret S.Maringa
