The Primus Guma Guma SuperStar season two (PGGSS 2) road shows have come to an end, paving way for the dreaded elimination stage due to kick off next Saturday, June 30, at the Expo Grounds in Gikondo.Unlike the first edition, this year, the financer of the contest Bralirwa Ltd, the country’s largest alcoholic and soft beverages firm, will award two winners. The eventual winner will be awarded a grand cash prize of Rwf24million, while the first runners -up would receive Rwf3million.The 10 finalists are; Urban Boyz, Young Grace, Just Family, Dream Boyz, Bull Dog, Danny, Knowles, Jay Polly, Riderman and King James.During the road shows that started on May 4, each of the artistes demonstrated a combination of musical prowess, passionate vocals and high-energy stage presence. They [artistes] attracted massive crowds across the country, and proved their superior musical skills and potential in the contest.In additional to the energetic performances, a pair of Petit Primus sold at just Rwf500. Voting starts on Saturday, June 23 from 10p.m. The public can then vote to keep their favourite artistes in the Primus Guma Guma SuperStar competition. Voting procedureSMSA SIM card needs to have been operating for a period of three months, meaning from March 16, 2012. To vote, simply send the number of your favourite artiste to 4343. You are allowed only one SMS vote per day throughout the voting period.Internet voting For online voting, visit, www.primusgumagumasuperstar.com and choose the artiste you want to save and click on the vote button. You are allowed to vote once per day throughout the voting phase.Evictions Jean Pierre Uwizeye, the Brand Manager of Beer Primus and Heineken, told The New Times that all the 10 contestants will perform live on Saturday, each performing four songs. The show would be broadcast on Rwanda Television (RTV). "On June 30, three contestants will be evicted and the remaining 7 will perform starting from 10p.m. The voting lines will open again until midnight, July 7,” he added.Again, on July 7, three contestants will be evicted from the Primus Guma Guma SuperStar, and four remaining will perform to give their best. The voting lines will re-open until July 14, where two artistes will be evicted. Voting will again resume until midnight, July 28, where the winner will be announced.The first edition of the Primus Guma Guma SuperStar was held in 2011, with R&B sensational Tom Close emerging the winner.
