Paul never did homework. ”Home work is too boring,” he said. He played football, basketball, and spent lots of time on his play station instead. His teachers always told Paul to do his homework or he would not learn anything.One day, on Saint Paul’s Day, he was at home when he saw his cat playing with a doll. When he looked closer he realised it was not a doll but a little man. He was shocked.The little man shouted, "Save me from that cat and I will give you whatever you ask.”Paul could not believe how lucky he was! Finally, all his problems were solved.  Paul asked, "Will you do me my home work?”And just like they had agreed, the little man began to do Paul’s homework. But there was a problem. The little man did not always know what to do and he needed help.”Help me! Help me!” he would say. And Paul would have to help all the time.”I don’t know this and that word,” the little man always said while reading Paul’s homework. When it came to Math, Paul was out of luck. ”What are multiplication tables?” the little man asked. ”In my daily life I never need that. And what is addition and subtraction and division and fractions?” he exclaimed.This became a routine and Paul stayed up late and spent more time doing his homework than anything else.At the end of the term, Paul got the best marks he had ever had. All his classmates were astonished and his teachers smiled and were full of praises too. His parents were impressed by his change of behavior.  You see, in the end Paul still thought he had made the little man do all his homework. However, I will share a secret, just between you and me. It was not the little man; Paul had done it himself.
