IT is such a beautiful and inspirational song. One of those unique videos you would never forget. At some point, the singer clad in an elegant mini-dress and ankle boots, is spotted dancing in the jungle of One Love in Kacyiru. Malia Carine’s new music video for, "Fly Away” will rock you and fly you to ‘cloud nine’. The song is about a passionate and unstoppable willingness to do what you love. The video for this song was shot using different film frequencies, allowing various actions to unfold at different rates within the same frame. Very well executed and perfectly edited."I am in the country to promote my latest video called, Fly Away – which talks about believing in yourself and pursuing your dream,” said Carine. "Never allow anybody to hold you back. Have a dream and let it fly away – don’t let anybody stop you from accomplishing it.” The scenes of the video were filmed at four locations; Cercle Sportif, Kigali Serena Hotel and One Love – Carine lauds the sponsors for allowing her to use their premises."We also rented a container and created our own décors. I am glad the whole shooting was a success,” she added. The song is reported to be one of several tracks that will be released on the singer’s future album. The DVD was produced by Kim XP, a renowned Ugandan producer. It’s not often that we get to see local artistes release high quality music videos. Despite this DVD being a bit more professional-looking, the closest thing we can say is that the Rwandan music landscape is changing for the better.According to Carine, the focus is on the launch of the video "Fly Away” and wants it to be played in all parts of the country, as well as across the rest of East African region.Malia Carine was born in Belgium to Rwandan parents."I love music and anything that sounds like music,” said Carine. "I grew up listening to a lot of Pop and gospel – also Hip-hop and R&B.” She has travelled to different cities around the world and it is the influence from her trips that gave her all the colour and charm to her music. She defines herself as an artiste who enjoys and always seeks to inhale the spirit of where she visits and breathe out inspiration to its people through music. Another benchmark came when Carine was admitted to the Montreal Academy of Music. Studying guitar, and drama there, she had plenty of opportunities to sing and, thus, is how her voice became noticed. Soon she was showing off her impressive pipes at school events and other celebration parties, working intensively with vocal coaches and learning operating techniques.
