Players Abroad: York on target as Byiringiro makes Sandvikens league debut

It was a week of mixed fortunes for Rwandans playing for foreign clubs as a host of players had adequate playing time with a number of them going on to find the back of the net.

Rafael York was on target for his new club Gefle IF while skipper Quentin Rushenguziminega also scored for his club FC Echallens. Striker Lague Byiringiro also impressed in his first league game for Sandvikens IF.

Morocco

Defender Emmanuel Imanishimwe played the entire game as league leaders FAR Rabat lost the derby in 1-0 defeat to cross-town rivals FUS Rabat in the Kings Cup quarter final first leg game.

Sweden

Lague Byiringiro made his official league debut for Sandvikens IF as they beat Boden 2-0. He was introduced in the 69th minute and had a great outing. Fellow countryman Yannick Mukunzi was also in action.

Rafael York started for Gefle IF at the Gavlevallen Stadium and scored the third goal in the 55th minute before he was replaced in the 66th minute as his side thrashed bottom-placed Skovde 4-1.

Elsewhere, attacker Kalebo Wimbabazi replaced Nordh Gustav in the 92nd minute as Pitea IF drew 3-3 with Orebro Syrianska.

Belgium

Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye is serving a red card suspension and was not in the march day squad for the Genk side that lost 3-0 to Union Gilloise

Djihad Bizimana and Louange Muhire were not in the match day squad for their respective teams as Deinze beat Debder 3-2.

France

Warren Kamanzi saw 90 minutes of action for Toulouse who drew 0-0 with Nantes in the French Ligue 1.

Hakim Sahabo saw full time action for the U19 side of Lille who were held to a 1-1 draw by Stade Reims on Sunday, May 14, in the Junior Championship.

Norway

Ange Mutsinzi played 90 minutes in the heart of defense for FK Jerv who drew 1-1 with Fredrikstad.

Goalkeeper Clement Buhake Twizere was between the posts for Strommen IF who beat Sotea 2-1 at the Strommen Stadium while Josias King Furaha was sent off in the 55th minute through a straight red card as his team Flekkeroy IF lost 1-0 to Grorud

Winger Emmanuel Baru Gisa came in for Gambian midfielder Pa-Modou Jatta in the 46th minute as Fram Larvik drew 1-1 with Orn-Horten.

Denmark

Sanders Ngabo was an unused substitute for Lyngby BK who lost 1-0 to Silkeborg.

Switzerland

In the Classic Liga, skipper Quentin Rushenguziminega scored in the 63rd minute and tasted 90 minutes of action for FC Echallens who were humiliated 9-2 by Servette U21.

Kenya

Central defender Emery Bayisenge was not part of the Gor Mahia team that lost 2-1 to AFC Leopards. The defeat saw them drop to second on the league table with 63 points, a point behind table leaders Tusker.

Cyprus

Kevin Monnet-Paquet was an unused substitute for league leaders Aris Limassol who beat Apollon Limassol 2-0.

Tanzania

Meddie Kagere was on the Singida Big Stars bench as the team went on to lose 2-0 to KMC.

Luxemburg

Striker Glen Habimana was not in the match day squad for Rosport Victoria who lost 2-1 to Kaerjeng.

Sven Kalisa played in central midfield for Etzella Ettelbruck who defeated Strassen 3-0.

Mozambique

Patrick Sibomana was a full timer for Ferroviario de Beira who pipped Nacale 1-0 while Abeddy Biramahire featured for UD Songo who lost 1-0 to Black Bulls.

Libya

Haruna Niyonzima replaced Ali Eshtewi in the 83rd minute as 10-man Al Taawon beat Al Nasr 2-0.
