Editor,I am writing in response to an article published in The New Times, June, 13 under the headline "Economic woes in EAC calls for responsible spending”.

I really agree with Baingana on the economic challenges facing the East African Community partner states. In these troubled economic times, if the value of our export receipts cannot cover the import needs as Baingana stated, then we indeed need to ask ourselves how we shall attain economic transformation.Alain Kamanzi
