HE is one of the best defenders that the country has ever produced and after playing for his club for many years, Hamad Ndikumana a.k.a Katatuti is now being fronted for a coaching role.According to a top Rayon Sport official who preferred to remain anonymous because the matter is yet to be resolved, the towering defender who came to the club for a third stint is being groomed to take over the coaching role at the club."He would certainly be a good coach and many people think he is also the ideal man to bring back the blues fans to stadia.Nothing is confirmed yet at the moment because we don’t want to jeopardise plans for the Peace Cup quarter-finals,” the official said.Rayon Sport which has now gone 8 years without any silverware is under the tutelage of Jean Marie Ntwgabirwa, one of the most successful coaches in the country with successful stints with APR and Atraco.But many Blues’ fans have never welcomed the Amavubi assistant coach over his comments in 2010 that he would never coach the Blues though he later retracted the remarks months before he signed for them.With Rayon Sport forming an investment company to solve their long running financial woes, the club needs the backing of its fans and many Blues believe Katatuti would rally them.Ntagwabirwa’s two year deal with the club runs out at the end of the season and media reports in Tanzania are linking him with a move to Yanga Africans.33-year old Katauti was released by Cyprus club APOP Kinyras in January, before joining Rayon Sport a month later where he has played 11 games.Meanwhile the Blues are set for a difficult quarter-final berth against Kiyovu in the MTN Peace cup later this month.Quarterfinal fixtures
