Gacaca achieved a lot for Rwandans

Editor,I wish to respond to a story that appeared in The New Times of June, 13, titled "Gacaca: Mission accomplished.” I agree with other Rwandans that Gacaca has been a huge success. While there is no justice system anywhere in the world that can be said to be 100 per cent perfect, Gacaca tried its best in justice delivery.I think Gacaca was the best way to deal with the judicial challenges left by the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. It has also contributed towards peaceful co-existence and reconciliation among Rwandans and I wish may people in Africa borrow a leaf from Rwanda and adopt home-grown solutions to address their own challenges.
