 As Rwanda gears up to host the 2012 edition of Kwita Izina on 16 June, 2012 my best wishes go out  to the Tourism and Conservation Department of the Rwanda Development Board, for a very successful event.Kwita Izina, the Gorilla naming ceremony, offers the world a unique tourism event. It is very encouraging to see how well RDB markets and promotes this important programme in the tourism calendar of the country. "Innovation” is the buzz word in today’s fast changing and dynamic world. The Government of Rwanda effectively innovates and develops suitable tourism products and services which all go towards making this beautiful nation, Rwanda, the preferred destination for tourists from far and near.Connectivity is another key influencing factor in developing tourism. Here again, the Government supports and encourages more and more International Airlines to include Kigali in their operational network. In recent months , we have seen Qatar Airways , Turkish Airlines and even South African Airways fly into Kigali , while RwandaAir constantly innovates and expands its flight operations not just on the African continent , but also at select destinations in the world. Clarence Fernandes
