Atraco FC kept their title hopes alive with a slim 1-0 victory over giant killer Mukura VC yesterday at Huye grounds.

In-form Ugandan import Peter Kagabo was on target for the taximen ten minutes to the end of the game, to keep his side three points adrift of nine time national league champions APR who kept their title chase on track with a 6-1 rout of relegation bound Etincelles at Nyamirambo stadium.

This season’s league leading top scorer Elias Uzamukunda took his goal tally to 15 with a hat trick before Jabir Mutarambirwa who came in for Mwemere Girinshuti curled home a perfect loop to take his goal tally to 13 goals scored this season.

Burundi born Masudi Kaka also came on to the score sheet with a brace. Newly appointed Dutch coach Rene Feller proved that he would guide the military side to more success after his team’s good display. At the same venue, Kiyovu held Rayon Sport to a 1-all draw.

Abdul Uwimana scored for the Blues on 46th minute before Jean-Claude Iranzi leveled for the Greens on the 78th minute of the game. Uwimana who was playing second game for Rayon Sport after his self imposed exile in Belgium scored after a blunder by Marcel Lomami.

Kiyovu dominated the first half but failed to utilize the few chances to score earlier. The second half substitution of Albert Nyumbayire for Roger Tuyisenge added some dimension to the Blues attack that got several chances to put the game beyond Kiyovu’s reach but to no avail.
