Marines FC will be without their star striker Arthur Gitego for the remainder of the season through injury.
The forward will be out for four weeks after he sustained an ankle injury while training with rest of the team on Friday morning.
"We were playing eleven aside during Friday training session and I suffered the injury. I will be out for around a month which means my season has come to an end," Gitego told Times Sport
"It is sad that I won't help my team again this season. There is nothing I can do as injuries are part of football. I strongly believe the rest of my colleagues will carry on and fight till the end."
Gitego has netted nine league goals for Marines this season and played a big role in helping the club get out of the relegation zone in the second round of the league.
That means that Marines will do without him when they face Rayon Sports and Police FC in their final two games as their Premier League status for the 2023/2024 season is almost ensured.
Marines could also lose Gitego in the coming summer transfer window to Georgian side FC Gagra who have tabled an 18 month deal for him.
