After suffering the heart break of losing the Primus National Football League title to rivals APR, Police are now eyeing the MTN Peace Cup.The law and order enforcers’ side threw away a five point lead to finish second in one of the most thrilling Primus league title race in years. But rather than covering in self pity, Police coach Goran Kopunovic, who has transformed the club from a yo-yo team to becoming APR’s main challengers, is challenging his players to end on a high by winning some silverware, the club’s first in its 11 years of existence."Losing the title should inspire us in winning the Peace Cup. The players want to pay the fans for keeping faith in the team. The players are now aware that being tagged favourites does not necessary mean they will win the trophy,” the Serbian tactician told Times Sport.Police lost to APR in last year’s final but will be hoping for a change in fortune, starting with their quarterfinal clash with Marines Fc on June 26.
