The Frw 6 million Captains’ Cup week will be a very memorable one for Kigali Golf Club after registering three hole in ones during the course of last week.

In the build-up to last Saturday’s Captains’ Cup, three senior golfers; Gurmit Santokh, Pierre Duclos and Patel Yogesh are said to have played hole in ones.

Gurmit (handicap 28) started the run when he hit a hole in one last Tuesday, Duclos (handicap 21) followed suit on Wednesday on the same hole before Yogesh (handicap 12) capped it all up on Thursday with a fascinating hole in one on hole number four.

Despite a good build-up for the trio, it was only Yogesh who managed to transform this form into the Captains’ Cup event as he topped one of the subsidiary categories (handicap 10-18) with 75net. During the prize giving ceremony, the club captain Marcel Byusa said that it was a fascinating feat for the club.

"It is definitely a remarkable performance for the individuals and one that they will leave to remember for a very long time,” the club president Ezra Bunyenyezi supplemented. The week-long event was sponsored by Computer Point, one of Rwanda’s leading IT companies.

Rwanda’s national team golfer Olivier Munyaneza is the only other golfer with a hole in one show onto his name this year.

Munyaneza made the shot early this year during the Fina Bank mug.
