Rwanda secure Chad friendly

Wednesday Rwanda vs Chad AFTER back to back defeats during their training camp in Tunisia, Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars will play one more warm-up match against Chad on Wednesday ahead of the 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifier first leg against Algeria due on June 2 in Algiers.

WednesdayRwanda vs ChadAFTER back to back defeats during their training camp in Tunisia, Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars will play one more warm-up match against Chad on Wednesday ahead of the 2014 Brazil World Cup qualifier first leg against Algeria due on June 2 in Algiers.Amavubi’s head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojovic confirmed the Chad friendly at the weekend. He said, "We are playing Chad on Wednesday in Sousse. This will be our final friendly match before we fly out to Algeria”."It is good for our players to get the international exposure from such friendly matches which are needed to build their confidence and experience. Chad is a good side to help us in our preparations,” added the Serbian coach.Chad is ranked 115th in the world and 32nd in Africa. It will be the first meeting between the two teams.Chad exited from the 2014 World cup qualifier at the hands of Tanzania after a 2-all aggregate draw which saw Taifa Stars go through to the group phase on away goals rule.The game against Chad will determine the final 18-man team which will face Algeria on Saturday in Blida.Meanwhile, rivals Algeria thrashed Niger 3-0 in an international friendly on Saturday night at Mustapha Tchaker Blida stadium. The game which was watched live by Amavubi team via a live feed saw hosts Algeria securing the lead as early as 33rd minute when William N’Gounou scored an own goal.Five minutes later, Olympiakos striker Rafik Djebbour doubled the lead. El Arbi Hillel Soudani who plays for Vitoria Guimarães in Portugal came off the bench to score the third goal on 82nd minute.Rwanda’s other Group H rival Benin were held to a 2-all draw by Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou on Saturday.
