Fifty vulnerable families in Kinyinya Sector, Gasabo District, yesterday, received health insurance cover (Mutuelles de santé) paid for by students and former students of FAWE Girls secondary school under their association, Turikumwe Family.The group also donated scholastic materials and text books, among others. The beneficiaries are part of the 544 families headed by widows, children or orphans affected by the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.The association had earlier visited Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre to pay tribute to Genocide victims buried there.Brenda Nkusi, the coordinator of the group, said that the exercise is done annually and that they identify the most vulnerable groups.She pointed out that apart from their personal and parents’ contributions, they also get support from the Ministry of Defence, Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF), among other well-wishers.
