President Paul Kagame has said the majority of Rwandans are energetic young people emphasising that it should be harnessed to ensure rapid economic development. The President was addressing residents of Kigarama Sector, Kicukiro District and civil servants from various government institutions who participated in the monthly community work programme commonly known as Umuganda at Rebero hill yesterday.He urged the public to give due regard to Umuganda and other home grown initiatives, which he observed contribute a great deal in helping one million Rwandans cross the line of poverty. "The difference between Rwandans and other people is the fact that we have decided to find solutions to our own problems. When people decide to come together and work for their common good, there is nothing they cannot achieve. Let us all mobilise our energy, own and embrace these homegrown initiatives so that we can rapidly transform our country,” the president said.Present at the event were the ministers James Musoni, Local Government, John Rwangombwa, Finance and National Planning, Francois Kanimba of Trade and Industry and Venetia Tugireyezu of the Presidency, among other senior Government officials.
