My name Conrad Bwanakweri and I have been in a relationship with a girl I love and she tells me that she loves me with all her heart. When I started dating her, I realized that she used to move in a group of girls all the time and some people told me that they had an unsavory reputation. However, I loved her at first sight and was always willing to give her a second chance. I also thought that maybe that was part of her growing up since she still lived with her parents. Our relationship was smooth at first but later she started failing to receive my calls, but later she would call back after some days to apologise. Some of my friends later told me that she was in the habit of going out with older and married men.Again I turned a blind eye, I rationalized that these friends were simply interested in having her for themselves by driving a wedge between us.So our relationship continued. But later I realized that I could be making a big mistake. So I started slowing down in the hope that I would fall out of love with her. I thought that gradually, she would also lose interest in our relationship. But then after some time, I would miss her like crazy, I would call her and we start off again. I hindsight, I regret having memorized her phone number. This is because, however much I tried to forget about her by even deleting her number from my phone book, her digits were permanently stored in they back of my head.So the relationship went on and off. Then one day, I went out on a night with her to papyrus in Kimihurura. As we drank and had fun, I did not realize that some ‘oldish’ man was critically examining my relationship with the girl that night.Later, hew came to me and told how he had been in a long term relationship-cash for love relationship with the girl I thought loved me.He then told me that I should be careful because he had HIV, so there is a possibility that I may have also contracted the deadly virus since we had shared the same woman. As if to prove to me he showed me some scarring on his arms and claimed that those were symptoms of his illness. I was taken aback and did not know what to do. I walked out of papyrus and started negotiating with a taxi drive to take me home. Then my girl came running and jumped into the car and we drove home.Throughout the journey home, I did not say a single word to the lady. We reached home around 5am and I told her that I am going straight to work. That is when hell broke loose. She claimed I did not want to see her anymore. When I walked out of the house, she came out running, only in her underwear and chased me up to the market shouting obscenities at me. Some market vendors who were already at the market could not believe the spectacle. I was forced to shift and leave Kicukiro vowing never to contact her again. But strangely I miss her and I am thinking of taking her back.
