Ngoma and Nyagatare districts, over the weekend hosted the ongoing Primus Guma Guma SuperStar (PGGSS) road shows.Saturday evening opened with an unforgettable performance by Knowles followed by King James who proved equally popular. As usual, the musical spectacle went down well at a jam-packed stadium in Ngoma. In Nyagatare, the road show reached a crescendo on Sunday evening. The 10 music stars are; King James, Jay Polly, Bull Dog, Knowles, Riderman, Young Grace, Danny, and the three groups; Just Family, Dream Boys and Urban Boyz, that replaced Emmy who voluntarily quit the competition to pursue further studies in the U.S. As has become the ritual, the musicians requested fans to vote for them.The contest next moves to Gicumbi District on Saturday evening.The grand finale is slated to take place on July 28 at Amahoro stadium when the winner is expected to be announced in front of thousands of local music fans. The event will be accompanied by a grand live concert to be graced by America’s multi-talented artist/songwriter Jason Derülo. The winner of the Primus Guma Guma SuperStar 2012 is expected to scoop Rwf24 million – which, according to the organisers ,would be split as follows: Rwf6 million as the cash prize, a contract of Rwf6 million, an album valued at Rwf5 million, its launch worth Rwf6 million, as well as a video shoot/ production worth Rwf1 million.The first edition took place last year when R&B singer Tom Close emerged the winner. The annual music competition is designed to assemble the country’s best artistes and engage the public in an exciting and energetic musical journey.  The competition is organised by the country’s leading alcoholic and soft beverages company, Bralirwa Ltd, through its flagship brand Primus – in partnership with the East African Promoters (EAP).
