NOT even the heavy downpour could dampen the spirits of the music fans, and Friday’s road show in Ngoma District became quite an adventure in the rain indeed. Hundreds filled the area stadium, as the 10 contestants in the Primus Guma Gumma Superstar (PGGSS) show strived to prove to revelers who was best talented in music, with the hope of walking away with prize money of Rwf24 million and a host of other goodies.The venue was packed even before the artistes arrived, and you could see the eagerness on all their faces as they waited for their favorite stars to hit the stage.Upon stars’ arrival, the crowd excitedly flooded to have a glance of the Primus Guma Guma Superstars, but the bouncers quickly ushered them into a big tent. The road show was attended by over 20,000 revelers.  MC Tino and his co-host Anita kept music fans dancing uncontrollably before the concert commenced. "I am so excited and today I am going to dance my legs off because I may never get the chance to see these artistes in a free concert again,” said Sandra Umutoni. With Knowles being the first artiste on stage, she performed her songs and managed to wow the crowd with her incredible waist movement.As usual, King James mesmerized the crowed with his love tracks and this time hit the nail straight in the head with his latest single, Para para. Riderman did not only sing but danced as well and motivated the fans to dance as well, as they sang along with him. Young Grace, the Hip-hop upcoming star made boys in the crowd scream her name and rap along as they enjoyed her prowess. The crowd’s favourite Jay Polly made it look like the jumping had been saved for him – and his collabo with Bull Dog got revelers dance passionately.Dream Boys made the crowd dance and thrilled, everyone in the stadium raised their hands to cheer the youthful performers. And before they could wipe sweat off their face, Just Family hit the stage, bringing with them their dance moves and conquered the evening. Following Emmy’s to the USA, Urban Boys have since joined the competition and they went a long way in justifying to the crowd that their recall to arguably the country’s most prestigious music competition was on pure merit.They didn’t just enchant the crowd with singing but they danced with most energy. The night was crowned by Dannie, who left his fans requesting for his song, Iri joro.Stars involved in car accidentMeanwhile not everything went well that evening, as Primus Guma Guma stars were involved in a car accident on the Nyagatare highway - as the two buses which were carrying them to the hotel collided. Fortunately, no one was injured, apart from R&B singer Knowles who sustained minor injuries. "I suffered minor injuries on my toes and my head was hurting. But I was taken to Nyagatare Hospital and discharged after doctors said that I was fine. There was another person who suffered from shock but he was also discharged,” Knowles told The New Times. "The rest were fine and taken to the hotel to prepare for the Sunday concert,” she said, ahead of yesterday’s do in Nyagatare.
