James Bertrand Longley, a film producer, teacher and motion picture expert is here to conduct a documentary filmmaking workshop dubbed, K-Dox, on the invitation of Almond Tree Films, a film company based in Kigali.The American film maker who is famously known for his 2002 documentary, Gaza Stripe, is also a three time Jury award winner at the Sundance film festival and was nominated for the Academy award for documentary feature. He’s currently on the committee of the Oscar awards.The workshop that is the first of its kind in Rwanda has attracted 12 film makers that were chosen after applications and contests. "I am glad that I am a student of James who is an expert at documentary film making. I’m doing preproduction for my own film and this workshop is timely” said Clemantine Dusabejambo, one of the students at the work shop who is also making her own movie, Black in White, about albinos."This project is meant to develop the skills of these lucky 12 film makers in film documenting, motion picture production and many more skills.
