Twenty-six players, including six girls have upped their training session to three times a week as they continue preparations for the forthcoming Zone V tournament due May 21-27 in Bujumbura-Burundi.According to the Technical Director in the national karate federation Didier Rurangayire, the teams will take part in both Kata and Kumite categories."We selected some players from the last tournament that we held at Amahoro stadium and they will increase their training schedule to three times a week starting today (yesterday) before making it daily next week,” noted the former Rwandan champion.He added, "We believe the team is good enough to hunt for medals in the Bujumbura tournament.” Karate is one of the fastest growing sport in Rwanda, along with cricket and rugby.
