Though it’s has not been around for long, café restaurant Olympiad’s services and food is quiet impressive. Situated along Kisiment-Kimironko road, it is snuggled right opposite the Amahoro stadium Remera Gate.It presents mostly local and regional foods like igitotoke (plantains), Cassava root, Sweet and Irish potatoes and basically any other local dish you can think of. The buffet consisting of only boiled items goes for Rwf 2000. The restaurant also has a variety of fresh fruit juices, coffee and tea.On our visit, food was good; I parted with Rwf 9000 for a plate of escalope of veal with red wine sauce and Irish coffee. A friend who had a fish fillet with mushroom gravy, said it was quite tasty too. The service here is generally friendly and attentive. The place is ideal for people who want to eat unsophisticated food at an unsophisticated bill at a happening place. They do the famous Nyama choma too (a goat’s leg goes for Rwf 7000). Grilled rabbit with mustard goes for Rwf 4000, plus fish and goat brochettes. But watch out as it can get very crowded on Friday evenings as they usually have karaoke. With a bottle of Heineken at Rwf1500 and soda at Rwf500, this place probably has the cheapest prices.-the staff; fast and smart-the bad points; on weekends the service can be a bit lacking due an overwhelming big number of clients and you may find yourself going to the bar to find a waiter.-the good points; good food, spacious, and ample parking space-toilets; clean
