Genocide orphans receive aid

A charity organisation, Aegis Trust London, yesterday donated a container of assorted materials to orphans in various homes.

A charity organisation, Aegis Trust London, yesterday donated a container of assorted materials to orphans in various homes.The aid was handed over at the Discover Rwanda youth hostel, in Kigali.The package, including mattresses, furniture and scholastic materials was handed over by Jules Langstaff, the head of Aegis Trust London."It is always a pleasure to assist and work with all these groups. Rwanda is always close to my heart and I’m glad we successfully brought the second container of aid. We are hoping to be bringing one each year and I’m thankful to the generous communities in London that helped us,” Langstaff said.The items were distributed to various orphanages, among them Gisimba Orphanage, Les Enfants De Dieu, Kinamba Meg Foundation and Mana Mfasha nursery.Assumpta Umurungi, the Executive Director of association for Genocide widows (AVEGA) and Fred Mutambuwa, the country director, Aegis Trust Rwanda, received the donation on behalf of the recipients.
