Civil aviation authorities from East African member states want implementation of East African single passport to reduce barriers that still exist at the entry points. The call was made during a consultative meeting on facilitation of air transport that brought together civil aviation chiefs and several tourists’ agencies from East African Community member states.According to the civil aviation authorities, issuance of a single EAC visa and EAC passport would ease movement of citizens from EAC member countries without need for a national visa, an initiative that will boost the integration and regional tourism sector.
