Senior golfers will assemble at Kigali Golf Club this morning to crown off this year’s Captain’s Cup.

The week-long tournament which also involved two subsidiary events; the caddies’ tournament and a kids’ tournament will be capped with an 18-hole event whose tee-off is set for 10am.

The club captain Marcel Byusa expects a huge turn up today following a lucrative sponsorship package from Computer Point, one of Rwanda’s leading IT companies.

"Captains won’t have to dig deep into their pockets thanks to Computer Point, who have bankrolled this year’s Captains’ tournament to a tune of Frw 6 million," the club captain Marcel Byusa explained.

In regards to their sponsorship, Computer Point managing director Binu M Tharian Thomas said, "We feel that this is the right place (Kigali Golf Club) to give some support because there is a lot of enjoyment, respect and people out here are very social".

At the end of the day’s play, top players will be presented with various awards at a prize giving ceremony.

"The course is in good shape so we should have a fascinating contest," Byusa added.

The Captain’s Cup is the third event on this year’s KGC calendar.
