Africa women’s club championshipsPool A: Pipeline (Ken), NRC (Alg), Nkumba University (Ug), Manga Sport (Gab)Pool B: Varieties VB (Gab) - FAP (Cam), Prisons (Ken), Canon de Ndjili (I.Coast), Jeshi stars (Tz)Pool C: Stef Auto Club (Mad), KCB (Ken), Stella Club (I.Coast), Water Sport (Eth), Revenue Authority (Rwa)Pool D: Blue Angels (Nig), Mafolofolo (Bot), Motema Pembe (DRC), DGSP (Congo)RWANDA Revenue Authority (RRA) women’s volleyball club is Rwanda’s sole representative at the 19th edition of the Africa women’s volleyball club championships that commenced yesterday at Kasarani and Africa Nazarene University gymnasiums in Nairobi, Kenya.Placed in an ‘easy’ pool after the draws were made on Wednesday evening, the tax collectors can now focus on making it to the quarter-finals, a realistic objective at this moment.Having avoided the defending champions Kenya Prisons and Kenya Pipeline in the preliminary stage, RRA will have to deal with Kenya Commercial Bank, Ivory Coast’s Stella and the stubborn Ethiopian side Water Sport.Debutants at last year’s event, the tax collectors have never met any of the sides in Pool C where they are placed but according to head coach Jean Luc Ndayikengurukiye the main aim at this year’s event is to make it to the last eight.Hosts and playing in front of a home crowd, KCB will be a hard nut to crack but the youthful Rwandan outfit that has been preparing for the past four months will look to captain Regina Izabayo, new recruit Rosette Uwabizera from APR and experienced Ann Marie Uwitije.Ndayikengurukiye who will be missing the services of Ida Alexandra Humuza who inspired the side’s serving and attack last year will rely on the youthful Euphrance Niyomukesha, Claire Ingabire and Seraphin Mukantambara.
