EIGHT countries that include South Africa, Morocco and others like Algeria, DRC, Morocco, Mozambique, Kenya and Rwanda will take part in the African continental women beach volleyball tournament slated for May 22-26 in Rubavu district.Rwanda’s team of six players that include Emilienne Uwineza, Judith Hakizimana, Denise Mutatsimpundu, Charlotte Uwimana and Jeanette Iragena have been training in Kimihurura for the past couple of weeks.But the national volleyball federation Technical Director Christian Hatumimana told Times Sport yesterday that the players will travel to Rubavu next week for more preparations."We intend to move them to Rubavu to train at the venue of the competition and four players out of the six will be selected to represent the hosts,” Hatumimana said.According to Hatumimana, top CAVB officials, including its president Dr Elwani Amr and Madam Maya, who is in charge Beach Volleyball, will grace the five-day competition. The tournament’s winner will represent Africa at the summer’s London Olympic Games.
