Creative talent and extraordinary entertainer, Chrispin Ngabirama is a Rwandan singer and songwriter. Born on October 25, 1981 in a family of 11 in Bujumbura, Chrispin, as he is fondly known, grew up in Burundi. Like many Rwandans who had fled their country due to pogroms, Chrispin’s family later - in 1994 returned to Rwanda. Music  It is very hard to match peoples’ voices, but someone is ready to prove that he has what it takes.While little is known about this upcoming star, he is arguably one of the most talented local musicians.  The way that he performs for his fans is unbelievable. He keeps the audience involved from the beginning to end, putting on an amazing show every single time he sets foot on stage. Not only is he known for his great energy on stage, but also for his powerful vocal abilities and charisma.The singer has defied the odds to capture the public eye. "I grew up listening and loving Bob Marley’s music, and he inspired me to love Reggae,” said Chrispin.With his passion for music, Chrispin started singing as a youngster in church choirs and in small groups with friends. He decided to start a three-man band called Rwanda Family, in 2004 that marked the start of his music career. Chrispin released a song, Rap, in 2007, featuring Eric Senderi, and other artistes from different countries, including Tanzania, Philippines and Malawi.He started off his solo career a year later and soon released his debut album, Adieu L’Afrique Shida, which is highly appreciated in DR Congo and Ivory Coast."It was quite interesting that when I released my first album it gained popularity in the country and beyond. Recently, I was interviewed live on Mishapi Voice TV in DRC on the programme called Life Bongo stars and till today my songs are still big hits in Goma,” said Chrispin.With a wider fan base, Chrispin recently launched, Adieu L’Afrique Shida, at Kigali Serene Hotel, and was supported by famous local artistes such as Natty Dread, Shanel, Holy Jah Doves Band, Jadah Cross and the Kidz Voice band. "Although the concert went on well and I did my best, a lot was left undone and the sponsorship was insufficient. Some people who had pledged assistance didn’t honour them and I was left stranded at some point. This was largely due to not having a manager, who would have helped me to organise the concert,” noted Chrispin.   "But I am working on it (getting a manager) and I promise the best for my fans,” he added.The 31-year-old singer told The New Times that he was working on his second album, coming out before the end of the year. He is also scheduled to perform in Ivory Coast sometime this year."I am grateful for my fans and I will not let them down. I have a lot of energy and soon it will take me to greater heights,” promised Chrispin.The singer has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics from Kigali Independent University (ULK).
