Editor,For how long will innocent civilians in our region suffer? For instance, The Sudans Presidents Omar el-Bashir and Salva Kiir have failed to end their differences and, as a result, their people have continued to suffer.Sudan and the government of South Sudan leaders have failed to realise that violence will never achieve anything but devastation.Closer to home, innocent civilians in eastern DRC are bearing the brunt of renewed violence in the region. They have repeatedly lost opportunities due to endless insecurity and wars. Their children have not had the opportunity to go school, like others. Many have lost their own lives in the process.I still believe that disputes among Congolese can be resolved peacefully.Congolese leaders need to concentrate on uplift the welfare of their own people, instead of spending billions of money from minerals to buy weapons. At the end of the day, the weapons will kill innocent civilians and those who will survive will continue to wallow in endless poverty. Nadia KyakweraKayonza
