Five suspects involved in the case of the Kinyinya-based estate called Urukumbuzi, popularly known as Kwa Dubai, will be arraigned in the Gasabo Primary Court on May 22, sources say.
The suspects face charges related to abuse of their functions.
The suspects are Jean Nsabimana, a businessman who constructed the estate in question, the former Mayor of Gasabo, Stephen Rwamulangwa, former Vice Mayor, Raymond Chrétien Mberabahizi, former Director of One Stop Center, Jeanne d’Arc Nyirabihogo, and Gasabo District engineer, Jean-Baptiste Bizimana.

They were arrested in connection with the construction of substandard housing units located in Kinyinya Sector, Gasabo District, which has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

An assessment carried out on the ‘Kwa Dubai’ estate shows that more than 60 houses need to be renovated, a development that required many families to vacate their homes temporarily.
