Rwanda National Police, yesterday, inaugurated an ethics centre as part of its efforts to maintain professional standards, values and norms among its personnel.The centre located at the police headquarters in Kacyiru, Kigali, will among other things teach uniformed personnel how to professionally handle civilians, according to Musa Fazil Harerimana, the Minister of Internal Security.The centre will also teach conflict management and resolution, post conflict management and stabilisation. "There is need develop a common understanding on how to safeguard the rule of law and provide safety and crime free environment for all people in the region,” CSP John Uwamungu, who is in charge of the newly opened centre, said at the inauguration.Police reiterated the need for strong partnership with the people and the law enforcers in order to curb crime. The centre was logistically supported by USAID.US Ambassador to Rwanda, Donald Koran, graced the function and commended the national police for its discipline. According to the police officials, the centre will serve both government and private sectors.
