NAMIBIA’s U-20 national team jets in tonight ahead of Saturday’s African Youth Championship qualifier against Rwanda at Amahoro stadium. The delegation arrives in the country aboard Rwandair from South Africa. According to the national football body, Ferwafa, the team will reside at Sports Views and hold their training sessions at Ferwafa turf until Friday when they will officially be allowed to use the competition venue for 45 minutes before the Saturday’s game.Namibia’s head coach Ricardo Mannetti believes that his side still has a chance overturning the first leg deficit against Rwanda to qualify to the next round next week. The Junior Wasps beat Namibia 2-0 in the first leg over the weekend and they will be hoping to maintain their fine record when they host Namibia in Kigali on May 5.But Mannetti believes his side has corrected their mistakes ahead of the second leg match and will all be out to attack and score goals. However, his opposite number Richard Tardy has told his boys to go into Saturday’s game with a winning attitude."I have told me them to go into the game as if they are on 0-0 such that we can attack and win the game comfortably. We need to send a strong message to our next opponents (Mali) if we happened to progress to the next round,” noted Tardy. The Saturday’s game will be handled by Ethiopian officials, they include; Bamlak Tessema (centre referee) who will be assisted by Mussie Kindi, Belachew Gizaw with Bezezewe Balete Haile as the fourth official. Gbaon’s Jean Didier Nziengu will be the match commissioner.
