The 7th annual Groove Awards was broadcast live on KTN in |Kenya, on Saturday night, with our own gospel artiste Eddie Mico winning a top honour of the night. Hosted by Uche from Nigeria and Kambua, the event featured a number of impressive gospel performances and appearances of various big artistes. The ceremony was held at the Nairobi Baptist Church, Nairobi, Kenya. Mico was among six Rwandan nominees including Aline Gahongayire, Beauty for Ashes, Dominic Nic (last year’s winner), Lillian Kabaganza, and Patient Bizimana.Rwandan artistes hit the red carpet at the church in style, with the female artistes wearing flowing gowns, high heels with faces gleaming and the male artistes donning suits and tight fitting jeans. At a glance, you would have thought this was a Hip-hop awards ceremony, but when the artistes hit the stage, it was only the Pop gospel music. It was the third time that Rwandan gospel artistes had been nominated for the Groove Awards.
