I am sure we have all heard the adage “there’s a first time for everything.” Your parents remember the first time you walked and the first time you talked. Some of us remember the first day of school, others the first time they rode a bike. A footballer usually remembers his first pair of boots.
I am sure we have all heard the adage "there’s a first time for everything.” Your parents remember the first time you walked and the first time you talked. Some of us remember the first day of school, others the first time they rode a bike. A footballer usually remembers his first pair of boots.
The pampered girl remembers her first pair of earrings. There are a lot of different firsts. But the one thing no one ever forgets is their first crush. We all remember that person. Try asking someone near you if they remember and if they don’t, have them checked immediately for Short Term Memory Loss or Alzheimer’s disease. But don’t get it twisted; I am not talking about your first love. No. A crush is a purely primal, physical, but innocent attraction. What you feel in a crush is more of a sensation than an emotion. Now ask that person again. If their answer is still no, you are definitely talking to a robot. It could have been that guy who walked up to you on your first day of school and smiled at you. With that smile, he did not even have to talk. Your pulse quickened twofold. Your knees almost gave way underneath you. Or it could have been that new girl in school with the flawless caramel skin, glossy hair, gentle eyes and hypnotic hips that swayed along with your eyes every time she sashayed swiftly past your desk. Whoever it was, you could have realized eventually that it was purely physical and hormonal, and hence unattached to any real emotional. If you are lucky, she will feel the same way. If you are not, she will probably lead you on and take whatever she can from you or simply not pay you any mind. If you are lucky, you will get over it; if not, she will have you in her pocket for the rest of your life. Those are a lot of ‘ifs’ but then again, love is a game of chances. The first crush is a beautiful thing that is if it doesn’t turn obsessive and dangerous!
