The national Paralympics Committee (NPC) has taken the sport to the world’s newest nation, South Sudan.The NPC chairman Dominique Bizimana held sitting volleyball training and theory sessions with residents of Rumbek regional lakes state over the weekend.According to Bizimana, they chose South Sudan because of its status as newest African state and they would like to bring the country into the Paralympics movement."South Sudan will soon join the East African community and it has got a lot of war causalities especially amputees, which means they will need to have them do sports."…and also we want to sell Rwanda’s image worldwide through sports for people with disabilities,” stated Bizimana.Meanwhile, the second phase of the national sitting volleyball championship continues tomorrow at the NPC gymnasium in Remera.
