National U-20 national team has been boosted by the arrival of Belgium-based defender Jean Marie Rusingizandekwe ahead of the African Youth Championship second leg clash against Namibia this weekend.Rusingizandekwe, who plays for Belgium’s Marines, played a key role in Rwanda’s historical participation at last year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup finals held in Mexico. He missed the first leg due to a rib injury and his arrival has added optimism in the junior wasps’ team that is looking to qualify for next year’s Africa Youth Championship due in Algeria. With a two-goal advantage, head coach Richard Tardy wants to maintain the momentum in Kigali before embarking on plans to overcoming Mali in the next round."I now have a full squad and we hope to increase our training in the remaining days and fine tune the boys psychologically as we get them ready to finish the task at hand on May 5,” noted Tardy.Apart from Rusingizandekwe, Tardy has three other influential professional players in camp, namely Bonny Bayingana (Express FC), Charles Tibingana Mwesigye (Proline) and Solomon Nirisarike (Antwerp).Rwanda beat Namibia a fortnight ago at Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek with two second half goals courtesy of skipper Emery Bayisenge and Kipson Atuheire and not Tibingana as we reported in the match report. The victory put Rwanda in pole position to qualify to the next round ahead of the second leg though their opponents still believe that they may stern the hosts and overturn the deficit at Amahoro stadium.Whoever progresses will face West African giants, Mali in July in the second round.
