The Indian Chef Restaurant is located at the foot of the Parliament Building next to Hotel Diplomat in Kimihurura. While this restaurant specializes in Southern Indian cuisine; they do Chinese and African cuisine too.Tandoor Aloo, a combination of smashed vegetables and paneer mixed with Indian masala and stuffed potatoes with mint sauce cooked on tandoor oven, is a crowd puller. On our visit we ordered Fish Tikka, 6 pieces of boneless fish marinated with yoghurt and Indian masala and served with medium spicy, we washed it down with fruit salad with ice-cream. If you are a mushroom enthusiast, you can opt for the Mushroom pepper fry, which is mushroom saunted with onion, chilly, ginger, garlic and flavored masala at Rwf3800.The place also has a wide range of drinks from beers to wines, whisky and soft drinks. A soda goes at Rwf800; a diet coke goes for Rwf1000. Johnson the manager is always around to giver diners a warm reception and to make sure all is well. If you are looking for great food, good service at a fair price out of town, check out this joint. Though it might not be ideal to go there when you are unaccompanied, its serene atmosphere might prove to be a little too much. The Indian Chef’s doors are open Monday to Fridays and serves breakfast as well. The staff: Smart and attentiveThe bad points: No music or TVThe good points: Spacious, excellent service The toilet: Clean
